Egg Diet Plan – How to Get the Most Out of Eggs Every Day

Among all the diets out there, there is one that is perfect for those who love eggs. In fact, the hard-boiled egg diet, also known as the Mayo diet (but actually has nothing to do with mayonnaise), comes straight from the United States and has been growing in popularity since the 1980s. Beware, while promises do wonders, this low-calorie diet can also lead to some undesirable results.
What is the mayonnaise diet?
Its duration is very short, as it is recommended for rapid and significant weight loss. So for 14 days, you only bring in 800-1000 calories per day (since the recommended daily intake for women is 1800-2000 calories per day), and the goal is to lose 7-10 kilograms of weight in two weeks.

As you undoubtedly understood, this diet consists mainly of boiled eggs. It is taken at least 6 times a week, but there are no restrictions on the quantity, you can consume it as you wish. It can be paired with a lot of steamed vegetables (especially greens) and raw vegetables (green salad, cucumber, etc.), as well as meat (especially chicken and turkey) and fish. Fruit is not prohibited. You should also drink plenty of water and zero-calorie drinks (tea and coffee, for example). Finally, the consumption of citrus fruits is encouraged for detoxification, and grapefruit is highly recommended in this diet. On the other hand, legumes, starchy foods, fats, dairy products, alcohol, and sugar are prohibited.

This diet is restricted and it is strongly advised not to exceed these two weeks of the diet.
What do we eat?
Here is a list of examples:

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs, a cup of unsweetened tea, an orange, and a rusk.
Lunch: a portion of grilled fish, a portion of zucchini and grapefruit, and a cup of coffee/tea without sugar.
Dinner: vegetable salad, rusk, 2 boiled eggs, and a cup of tea / soaked without sugar.

Why boiled eggs?
simply because boiled eggs are low in calories, rich in protein, and full of satiety.

Benefits of this diet
This diet promises quick weight loss. It’s short and easy to follow, and the menus are simple and easy to access. It allows you to maintain a good amount of protein and fiber and reduces the time you spend in the kitchen preparing meals.

Disadvantages of this diet
The main problem is that there are not many varieties on the menus. We also stop eating dairy products, complex carbohydrates, and fats… which can lead to vitamin and mineral deficiencies and fatigue! The most important thing is that although eggs affect the feeling of satiety, they cause some fatigue (even disgusting at times), which causes a feeling of hunger. This diet is considered dangerous and radical by some doctors and should not be continued for long.
In addition, encouraging excessive consumption of grapefruit would not be appropriate in the case of taking certain medications. Grapefruit is an enzyme inhibitor, thus preventing the conversion of some medications that are found in greater quantities in our blood. So grapefruit is avoided if you are taking some drugs that act against cholesterol, anti-rejection drugs, some heart medications, some anti-cancer drugs…

From a diet point of view, it is always advisable to rebalance your diet rather than choose an “original” and difficult diet. In fact, this diet cannot be your usual diet. When you resume a “normal” diet, calories will be redistributed to the hips. So it’s best to rebalance your eating habits through small changes that will last over time.
