8 ways to treat headaches without medication

Whether you’re against medication overuse or can’t afford medication right now for some reason, it’s always helpful to know how to get rid of a headache without resorting to medication. There are many natural and alternative treatments and prevention methods that you can try to get rid of headaches and migraines. Keep reading to find it.

Try walking. Walking can be very helpful in treating a headache, especially if it’s causing stress or if you’re constantly staring at computer or TV screens. The headache will go away instantly if you go somewhere quiet, take a deep breath, and try to clear your mind.
Try to get out into nature as much as possible, such as a secluded sandy beach or a quiet country road, but if you can’t get out of town, go to a park or garden.
You can also do some exercises or light jogging. Studies show that aerobic exercise relieves pain and that regular exercise helps reduce headaches.

You can also boil fresh or ground ginger in water to inhale its fumes, such as a steam bath, which also treats headaches.
Chewing on a piece of ginger candy can also relieve headaches.

You can use peppermint oil to massage your forehead, temples, and even jaw area. You can also grind fresh mint leaves and place it on your forehead for 10 to 15 minutes, breathing deeply during this time.
You can also make a soothing drink with fresh mint leaves. Just put a little of it in a cup of boiling water and leave it there for a few minutes.
