For some reason, most of us seem to get caught up in the private lives of celebrities. Perhaps because, despite their lavish lifestyles and massive incomes, they look larger than life and we want to believe they are just like the rest of us. Celebrities who are friends frequently appear in the most popular news stories. Although we often assume the worst, we rarely know what is really going on. What is certain is that people sometimes abandon their spouses in favor of their lovers. Here are some examples of when they happen.
Allison Lambert

The CMT 100 Best Duets Gala featured a duet between Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton in 2005. Shelton described the performance as follows: “We were playing as part of a duet night hosted by CMT. They paired me up with Miranda, and during the rehearsal stage, I don’t know” something happened that we were We both know him. Britney Spears and backup dancer Kevin Federline began dating in 2004; After just three months of dating, they got engaged. Small detail though: Shar Jackson, the actress, was still Federline’s wife and was expecting their second child together. Before the baby was born, they divorced, and Kevin later married Britney. Jackson commented that Federline’s romance with Spears “wasn’t just a breakup, it was more like breaking up a family.”
Rimes, LeAnn

When they were filming the 2009 movie Northern Lights, country singer LeAnn Rimes and actor Eddie Cibrian became friends. Despite the fact that they were already married, they fell in love with one another. Cibrian was married to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville, who frequently talks about the affair on the program. In 2011, Rimes and Cibrian finalized their divorce from their prior partners and wed one another a year later.
Tori Spelling

Billy Crudup and Claire Danes started dating in 2003. Although Crudup was seeing a pregnant Mary-Louise Parker at the time, and because of his relationship with Danes, he ended up breaking up with her, their relationship attracted a lot of attention. Before divorcing in 2006, the couple dated for three years. Currently, she is wed to actor Hugh Dancy.
Melanie Griffith

Actor Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith first spoke when she was 14 and he was 22. After she turned 18 in January 1976, they began dating and eventually were married, although the union only lasted six months. Despite divorcing, the two kept in touch and got married again until their second divorce in 1996. Soon after, Johnson, who was then 47 and newly divorced, started dating 18-year-old Jodi Lyn O’Keefe.
Jessica Lopez

As he was going through a divorce from Dayanara Torres and only five months after Jennifer Lopez ended her relationship with actor Ben Affleck, they started dating. In February 2008, they gave birth to twins together, however, they divorced in 2014. After splitting from Alex Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez is now dating Ben Affleck once more.
Soon-Yi Previn

Despite never getting married, Woody Allen and Mia Farrow were partners for ten years. Many children, including Soon-Yi Previn, were adopted by Farrow. Soon-Yi started an affair with Allen, who was 56 years old, while she was only 21 years old. Farrow’s connection with Allen was permanently over after she learned the truth. In the end, Soon-Yi and Allen got married in 1997, and they have since adopted two kids.
Debra Messing

Oksana Grigorieva

Robyn Denise Moore and Mel Gibson were wed for 26 years before making the separation announcement in July 2006. On April 13, 2009, she filed for divorce, and soon after, pictures of Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva at the beach appeared online. On April 28, 2009, they made their first public appearance together, and in October of that same year, she gave birth to their daughter. The two had already filed for a restraining order against each other by April 2010.
Thomas Kail

Michelle Williams and Phil Elverum were married from 2018 to 2019 before it was revealed that she was having an affair with Thomas Kail. In the end, she married Kail in 2020, and the two are now parents.
Gwen Stefani

Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani were wed in 1995, but their marriage ended in 2015 as a result of his extramarital affairs. Stefani and Shelton met while working on The Voice after Blake Shelton’s divorce from Miranda Lambert, and the two started dating soon after. After having an affair while he was still married to the actress Mayo Methot, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall got married in 1945. Bogart was 46 years old and Bacall was only 19 at the time. On the set of the movie To Have and Have Not, they became friends. About six months after his divorce from Methot was finalized, the two got hitched. The 12 years they spent together ended with his death in 1957.
Jennifer Aniston

On the Wanderlust set, Jennifer Aniston met Justin Theroux, and the two started dating in 2011. Theroux broke up his 14-year relationship with his fiancée, and soon after, he and Aniston became a couple. Three years after their 2015 wedding, in 2018, they divorced.
Stephanie McMahon

Although they were dating in real life as well, Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Joanie “Chyna” Lauer had a storyline about their romance in the 1990s in the realm of WWE. After that, Triple H dated Stephanie McMahon, who maintains that he was cheating on her despite his claims that he and Lauer had split up. In 2003, Stephanie and Paul exchanged vows.
Not All Affairs Work Out – Arnold Schwarzenegger

We’re going to venture a guess and suggest that most affairs don’t actually work out at all. Not all affairs turn out well. In 1986, Arnold Schwarzenegger wed Maria Shriver. Together, they have 4 children. After spending 25 years together, Schwarzenegger and Shriver divorced in 2011 after Shriver learned that he had an extramarital child with their housekeeper and had cheated on her. In 2021, the divorce was legally finalized.
James Jesse

Sandra Bullock wed Monster Garage host Jesse James in 2005. Many women confessed to having affairs with James when he was still married to Bullock in 2010, according to many women who came forward. Bullock filed for divorce shortly after, and it was concluded in June 2010.
Hank Baskett

Former Playboy model Kendra Wilkinson and retired NFL quarterback Hank Baskett were wed from 2009 until their divorce in 2018. News that Baskett had an affair with his wife when she was pregnant surfaced in 2014. Although he expressed regret and they made an effort to make amends, they ultimately decided to seek a divorce and are now co-parenting their children.

After meeting in a Miami gym, Alex Rodriguez wed Cynthia Scurtis in 2002. Together, they had two kids. After learning that he was having extramarital affairs in 2008, she filed for divorce. She firmly disputed the allegations that he had an affair with Madonna.
Hugh Grant

Hugh Grant and Elizabeth Hurley dated for 13 years in a highly publicized relationship that started in 1987. They ultimately ended their relationship in 2000. After Grant was apprehended, it was discovered that he had cheated on Hurley with a prostitute. Despite their breakup, they still share a close friendship.
Ryan, Meg

Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan were wed in 1991, however, they later separated and divorced in 2000 and 2001, respectively. Ryan and Russell Crowe had an affair in 2000 when he was still linked to singer Danielle Spencer. They met on the set of the movie Evidence of Life. Although their love endured, Ryan’s marriage broke down.
Kobe Bryant

Having met when he was 21 and she was 17, Kobe Bryant and Vanessa Laine were wed in 2001. Following an investigation into a case of sexual assault involving a 19-year-old employee, he was detained in 2003. He admitted having an adulterous encounter even though he insisted it was consensual. He publicly apologized and gave Vanessa a $4 million diamond ring. They stayed together until his death in a helicopter accident in 2020.
Kristen Stewart

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart’s Twilight co-star, and they dated for four years. When filming Snow White and the Huntsman in 2012, she was seen with her married director Rupert Sanders, so exposing their relationship. She and Pattinson split, and she and Sanders both apologized in front of the public.
Katharine McPhee
